Culture at Cheder
A loving heart sits at the core of the Cheder, as befits an educational embassy of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
We seek to recruit those who are genuinely aligned with our core values:
- Ahavas Yisroel (loving compassionate treatment of our fellow, such as we would wish ourselves treated)
- Yiras Shamayim (reverence of the Almighty in all that we do)
- Selfless community service
- Lifelong learning
These values underpin Cheder’s management style, the learning programs, and school community relationships. Cheder’s policies, decision-making and procedures derive from the Rebbe’s teaching, and halachic interpretations by esteemed Rabbis. Also, Cheder heeds the regulations of the Victorian Regulations and Qualifications Authority.
The management style at Cheder is collaborative and consultative, warm and inclusive. Staff work hard together to achieve the wellbeing of every precious student, in the way that best suits the student.
The Cheder is permeated by a rich, full year calendar of Chassidic festivals, anniversaries and celebrations, in which the children, their families and staff delight.
While the Cheder cherishes the spiritual, the Cheder community is also grateful to be schooled in a beautiful refurbished heritage mansion, adjacent to green parklands.
