WHO WE ARE

CHINUCH AL TAHARAS HAKOIDESH.

The Cheder was established in 2010 to provide quality Jewish education in accordance with the teachings and guidelines of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, predominantly for families living in Melbourne. Initially set up as a program of religious instruction, the Cheder became a fully registered, government approved school at the beginning of the 2017 school year. 

In light of the school’s mission to instill in its students pride in their identity as Chassidim, the Cheder offers an educational model described as chinuch al taharas hakoidesh. 

Simply, this means an educational offering which strives for the highest levels of sanctity and purity and promotes a conscious awareness of G-d through all dimensions of the curriculum. 

Cheder offers places to boys in years Prep to 8

In 2020, Cheder established Bnos Chana, commencing with a prep stream for girls. In 2021, Cheder is beginning another new girls prep class.

Thereafter one is considered “educated,” having completed one’s course of education.
