Established in late 2020, the Cheder’s Hanhola Ruchnis (Spiritual Oversight Committee) is responsible for ensuring that the Cheder pursues and achieves the Rebbe's directives in relation to chinuch al taharas hakoidesh. In so doing, the Hanhola Ruchnis (HaR) is guided by the Cheder’s vision, and by the school’s stated values.

The HaR is composed of four volunteer Rabbis and the school Chairman, and they periodically meet with the Principal of the Cheder.  The HaR oversees provision of the highest quality Chassidishe Chinuch to the talmidim of the Cheder and Bnos Chana, in a safe and nurturing environment, in accordance with the teachings of the Rebbe.

In keeping with the core Chassidishe values of the school, the HaR will focus on global school policies, curriculum, staffing and any issues which specifically require spiritual oversight. From time to time the HaR will review or engage specialist educators and other professionals to review the school curriculum or to guide the Cheder with procedure, best practice, the creation of required roles and the appointment of educators or leaders.

The concept of a HaR is an entrenched feature of the decision-making infrastructure of Tomchei Temimim, and through its deliberations, the school hopes to be able to access the “voice of the Rebbe” in relation to the complex decision-making which accompanies the management of educational institutions.

The HaR is distinguished from the School Executive which attends to operational detail and implementation.

While the issues to be deliberated upon by the HaR will typically come from the principal or the members of the HaR, parents are also welcome to submit their enquiries or issues to the HaR from time to time. In that regard the HaR may be contacted by email at: har@cly.vic.edu.au.

Private contact with individual members of the HaR about school matters, fees, administrative or personal issues is strongly discouraged.
